About the Bitcoin Pioneer Community

Everything you need to know about this exciting new concept!

Welcome!

If you’re reading this article, you’re probably interested in understanding what this community is about and how it works. If so, you’re in the right place!

The “Bitcoin Pioneer” Objective

The “Bitcoin Pioneer” (BP) community is an entirely new concept to the UK — perhaps even the world! It allows selected representatives the freedom to help drive adoption of Bitcoin in any way they see fit, subject to certain guidelines.

About Bitcoin Pioneers

Our mission is as follows:

To drive Bitcoin adoption and education in the UK

BP’s receive a maximum budget of £500 in Bitcoin a month (subject to approval and change) to give away to people who haven’t yet started their Bitcoin journey in gifts of £10 equivalent value.

The recipients of these gifts can be anyone over the age of 18 who reside in the UK. Usually, these are people who might have heard of Bitcoin and are keen to find out more about it or are nervous to take the first step — something we can all relate to!

Our chosen partner for storing and managing the bitcoin allocated for the program is Luno, a leading crypto wallet with a user friendly interface that is absolutely ideal for beginners.

BPs also encourage new users to attend one of the regular free webinars hosted by Luno that help with the education aspect. The most basic of these is the “introduction” webinar and the most advanced deals with investment strategies and useful tips on the app itself. These webinars are always available to join here:

Organization

The BP community is currently headed up by Jason Deane.

Jason is well known in the crypto industry as a writer and analyst and he is the author of the book “How to Explain Bitcoin to your Mum.” He is often published, interview by or quoted in Forbes, CNBC, Newsweek, Decrypt, Finance Magnates and Bloomberg and he can occasionally be seen as a guest on streaming channels or TV business programs including Coindesk, Bloomberg and CGTN.

After applying, you will have an initial conversation with Jason via Zoom to ensure suitability and to go through the basics to get you set up for the program. Starting is often same day!

How it works

Once approved, you will be given a unique code that acts in a similar way to a normal referral code — but there are some differences!

This code is unique to you and once you have set someone up with a Luno wallet to hold their bitcoin for them, you can provide your code to them to give them £10’s worth instantly and as a gift. Importantly, there are no requirements for any additional purchases, subscriptions or commitments.

In fact, there’s no small print at all! It is a genuine gift designed to help new people experiment with digital currency and prepare them for the future.

Your gifts are recorded using your code and the equivalent value is paid to you in bitcoin. So, for each £10 gift you make, you will receive £10. Simple!

In theory, the monthly maximum is set at £500, or 50 gifts. In practice, however, this upper limit is arbitrary, and you may keep gifting beyond this point as long as your referrals fit the criteria.

Best practice and important stuff

Your codes are for the purpose of helping new people get started with Bitcoin. It is OK to promote them on social media, referral websites or other mass marketing systems, but they must be promoted correctly and make it clear what the objective of them is.

Codes are not designed to be shared with people who are already on their Bitcoin journey and will not work on existing Luno wallets. Your code is effectively a smart code that will only work on new wallets

This is NOT about hard selling or forcing people to get involved in a space they are not yet ready to join! As we all know from our own experience, people find their own pace with Bitcoin and this is about gently easing them along.

Your codes are a way for people who are completely new to have a little confidence to try a few things, such as a simple transaction or simply moving bitcoin to the built in savings wallet.

In the end, you are giving more than just bitcoin — you’re giving people the ability to see that using cryptocurrency is actually pretty easy!

Further, you will able to invite new users to a range of educational webinars run by Luno provided free of charge to new people.

Support

You’re never on your own!

Via a private and very active Telegram channel, you will be able to meet other BPs, share ideas and experiences and discuss other crypto related matters.

Here, you can also get answers to questions and can take advantage of offers, events and programs that may come up from time to time that are unique to members of the Bitcoin Pioneer community.

Even better, this program is designed to fit around our busy lives, meaning you can be involved as much or as little as you like without worrying about meeting any contractual minimums or feeling under pressure.

What to do next:

Interest in joining this unique and flexible community?

If so, then get in touch with Jason via this contact box with a short personal summary and an indication of your level of knowledge about Bitcoin. You will then be invited to a short Zoom (which you can book at your convenience) after which we will get you up and running!

We respond to ALL applications and usually do so the same day. If you have not had a response within 72 hours, it means something has gone wrong!

Most commonly the email we send back has been intercepted by over zealous spam filters and send to junk mail (so please check this first), but sometimes applicants simply spell their email address incorrectly, so please double check before submitting.

Finally, we have had a few cases where certain mail servers have simply refused to deliver an email as it contains the word “Bitcoin” and, since we have no other way to get in touch, we have not been able to respond.

In short, if you haven’t heard back, please get back in touch with a different email or DM Jason on Twitter directly.

NOTE: All applicants must be 18 or over, resident in the UK and have ID.

If you're looking for solid, constantly updated content on the subject of Bitcoin and, well, pretty much everything else, I suggest joining Medium (the platform you’re on now) as a member for unlimited access to all stories. Most of the top writers and movers and shakers in the industry post here, so it’s well worth it!

It costs $5 a month and if you sign up using my link, I’ll earn a small commission at no extra cost to yourself.

Want free access to articles, analysis, podcasts and training webinars? Why not subscribe to the ‘Bitcoin and Global Finance’ newsletter? Subscribers over 18, resident in Europe (see list on subscription page) & new to Bitcoin can claim £10’s worth of Bitcoin on joining! Unsubscribe at any time.
